9-1-1 Revealed Buck's COVID Crush, And It's Already Complicated

Warning! The following contains spoilers for the 9-1-1 episode "Alone Together." Read at your own risk!
The 9-1-1 team had their hands full coping with the aftermath of the mudslide, but everyone was home and safe and sound with their respective families by the episode's end. This included Howie, who, after literally descending a "chimney" in the episode, decided to be home with Maddie to support her during her pregnancy. The two had a video chat with Albert and Buck at the end of the episode, which was cut short when Buck got a phone call. Maddie suspected it was his crush, but the truth was far more complicated than that.
Buck went to the other room and got on a video call with a woman he referred to as Dr. Copeland and kicked off what apparently was a therapy session. With that said, It also seems like this woman is also Buck's COVID crush, based on this little hint at the end from Buck talking to her.
I've been thinking a lot about what you said in our last session about how I hide my true feelings from others. I'm starting to think you might be right.
Dr. Copeland reacted as a therapist would and encouraged they pick up with that. To 9-1-1 fans, it may have sounded like Buck was dropping heavy hints to Dr. Copeland that he has feelings for her, though she didn't seem to pick up on it. Either that or she deliberately chose to ignore it, which wouldn't be all that surprising given how taboo a therapist and patient relationship would be.
One interesting thing to note about Dr. Copeland is that she's a blonde woman who looks older than Buck. The character certainly bears some similarity to Abby Clark, which may be what's driving Buck's crush towards his new therapist. As a therapist, I'm sure Dr. Copeland could read a lot into that, assuming she's aware of Buck's past relationship with Abby, but at this stage, we just don't know what's going on between the two, if anything.
And really, we can't be 100% sure if Dr. Copeland is a real COVID crush of Buck's. It could be that Buck doesn't want to talk about the fact he's in therapy and was asking Dr. Copeland about revealing his true feelings to someone else. Personally, I tend to like the theory that he has a thing for his therapist, but committing too heavily to one theory this early would irresponsible. For now, let's just see how it develops, and what other reveals may come from it.
Do you think Buck wants a relationship with Dr. Copeland? Feel free to make your voice heard in our poll, and catch 9-1-1 on Fox Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET
