No matter what, MCU fans on social media know how to take a Marvel moment and meme it to death. Such was the case for Helmut Zemo’s club dancing in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode “Power Broker.” It took over the internet as soon as the episode dropped. But fans of the Disney+ miniseries wanted more so Marvel answered their prayers. The company decided to release an extended video of Zemo’s dancing.

The club scene featuring Zemo, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in Episode 2 was filled with so many notable moments, but it was Zemo’s Saturday Night Fever-meets-suburban dad moves that caught Marvel fans’ imagination. Unlike the WandaVision memes, Marvel decided to oblige the fans by posting Zemo’s extended dance scene on Twitter. Check out Marvel’s dance-filled tweet below:

As evident by the extended scene, Helmut Zemo enjoyed his time in the club as he was way more into the music compared to the original scene. While everyone else was just vibing, Zemo did a stiff John Travolta impression in a sea of young clubgoers. It was nice that Marvel saw the internet’s response to the scene and decided to answer the call. That was an improvement over their non-response to the Vishawn and LaWanda memes. But Marvel just didn’t answer with a single tweet; the studio decided to upload an hour-long video on YouTube. So, Marvel fans can enjoy Zemo’s dancing as they party safely in their homes.

Seeing this lighter side of Helmut Zemo was a refreshing departure from the manipulative mastermind from Captain America: Civil War. Zemo managed to rip apart the Avengers in a way that didn’t truly get fixed until Avengers: Endgame. But his reintroduction in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier cast the Marvel villain as a possible anti-hero within the MCU. His redemption arc has become the miniseries’ most intriguing storyline. So far, Zemo has proven to be an asset to Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes’ efforts through his connections and cunning ways.

Helmut Zemo’s redemption arc in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier acted as a funhouse mirror to Sharon Carter’s new dark and seedy persona. Carter was the opposite of Zemo as she served her country faithfully until the events of Civil War forced her to go underground. The former civil servant seems to be involved in some underground network (Flag Smashers? HYDRA?). As the events unfold in the Disney+ miniseries, it will be nice to see if these two characters keep on their respective paths or revert to their old ways.

As The Falcon and the Winter Soldier barrels toward its finale, Helmut Zemo’s dance marked a bright spot in an otherwise dark and heavy series. Hopefully, the baron will give the internet and Marvel fans a better peek into his fun side. You can catch The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ every Friday.
