Steve Harvey and his wife Marjorie Harvey don’t mind showing their love for one another in public. From the Family Feud host's funny anecdotes to his emotional talk show moments, Harvey seemingly hasn’t been afraid to share anything about his personal life with the world. Social media has become an extension of the couple's love and affection, though viewers have rarely ever heard their full love story until recently, when Harvey revealed how he knew his wife was the number one answer on his board, so to speak.

Steve Harvey and his wife Marjorie have been going strong for over a decade, and part of what makes their story so lovely is that it's one that involves getting a second chance at love. When Harvey decided to give the Family Feud audience the low-down on his marital origin story, the host talked about the first time he met his wife, saying:

The very first words I said to her when I saw her, it was in the comedy club one night. She came in late, sitting on the front row with her girlfriend. I stopped my show as soon as I saw her. The first word I said to Marjorie was, ‘I don’t know who you are, but I'ma marry you one day.’ That was the very first words.

That was definitely a ballsy first impression to make on someone, but it's right up Steve Harvey's alley. In his Instagram video, Harvey gave the Family Feud audience members the full story of how he and his wife finally got back together again after their first attempt at a relationship ended roughly, and with Harvey homeless. The Family Feud host said to the viewers:

We dated for a year and a half, broke up because I became homeless. I didn’t have nothing. No cell phones back then. Thought I’d never see her again. She went off and got married. I went off and got married. All of our kids were born in the exact same year. Every time she had a child, I had a child. And of course, I didn’t know this at the time. Then when I got a divorce, 15 years ago, a buddy of mine got a girlfriend on the telephone and was talking to her. It was the day after my divorce. I was in the casino gambling with what little bit I had left. I was trying to flip that money so I could just recover from the divorce. I had no clue. And he said, ‘Hey man, I got a phone call for you.’ I said, ‘Man, you know I don’t talk to nobody when I’m gambling.’ He said, ‘Nah, man, you gonna want to hear this voice.’ I picked up the phone and said, ‘Hello?’ She said, ‘Boy, what you want?’ Soon as she said, I said, ‘Marjorie?’ She said, ‘Yeah, what you doing?’ So, I said, ‘Well, how your punk husband doing?’ Cause I knew she had gotten married, so I said, ‘How your punk husband doing?’ She said, ‘Boy, I got divorced three years ago.’ The next morning, I woke up, got a private jet and flew straight to Memphis. Got her and been with her ever since. Ain’t had another chick, nothing. Shut everything down. I knew when I first saw her, I was going to marry her.

After talking about his second shot at love, Steve Harvey praised his wife as the “coolest person” before telling another more recent story about a moment of marital discourse between the two. Check out the comedian's full Instagram post below:
