First Look At Katie Thurston As The Bachelorette Features Shirtless Men And A Sex Doll, So Get Ready For Shenanigans

Katie Thurston's season of The Bachelorette is quickly approaching, and, I freely admit, I have not been super pumped about Season 17. I don't think I'm alone in that feeling among those in Bachelor Nation, either, as a lot of very unsavory things have been happening in the franchise for a long time, and Matt James' recent time as The Bachelor left a lot to be desired. But, we've finally been gifted with a first look at what we can expect from Katie and her suitors when the show debuts, and it does look like we should get ready for some shirtless men and sex doll shenanigans!

While Katie Thurston's official promo was released a few weeks ago, I don't think it did much to really get Bachelor Nation hyped for her upcoming season of The Bachelorette, especially given all of the controversies with the franchise as of late. But, thanks to the show's official Twitter, we now have the first real look at the action on her season, and, as can be expected, these men are going to bring the heat and emotion, both when they step out of the limo to meet our vibrator-loving leading lady, and as the season goes on. Take a look!

The quick, 30 second clip packs a lot into a short bit of time, as we get glimpses of Katie greeting her suitors and chatting with temporary co-hosts Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe (who gave her some solid advice). But, the much bigger news is the fact that at least one of the men cast on Katie's season will, apparently, start his time with the outspoken lass by...bringing a sex doll to play at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico, where Season 17 was filmed.

Under the (semi)normal circumstances presented by The Bachelorette, this would likely be considered odd, but, as we know, Katie is not immune to a sexy bit of toy-based shenanigans. Katie made quite the entrance and introduced herself to Matt by offering him her large, sparkly, well-lit, purple vibrator on night one, and proceeded to brandish the item for most of that first cocktail party. This franchise loves nothing more than a hook (Colton Underwood=Virgin Bachelor, Peter Weber=Windmill Sex Bachelor, etc.), so I fully expect Katie's season to lean heavily on her take charge attitude and sex positive nature.

Of course, I'm saying this without knowing how Katie responded to a guy coming at her out of the limo with a very cheap sex doll. Though I do see her as someone to not purposely yuck any yums that one may have, I think she might have preferred if he showed up with a doll which was made of higher quality materials, you know?

Considering that this is still The Bachelorette, you'll probably be expecting that we'll get to see at least some of the men in a state of undress over the course of the season, and you would be correct. The trailer asks us to "come back to the sexy" (whatever that means) right as Katie is shown rubbing down some dude's pecs while they appear to be outdoor at some sort of ranch, which will have to be on the resort's property, seeing as how no one can really go anywhere while filming the show right now. Shortly after that, we see two tattooed gentlemen doff their shirts to give us some eye candy, and I bet a lot of viewers will say a "Yippe ki yay!" to that.

The trailer also features one young man who arrived dressed at a cat (Me-ow!) and several shots of pretty much everyone crying, so it looks as though Katie's season is shaping up to be a very dramatic affair.

Katie Thurston will debut as The Bachelorette on June 7 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. For more new things to watch, check out our 2021 summer TV premiere schedule!
