The Wild Way 90 Day Fiancé Actually Handles The Couples' Storylines, According To Stephanie Davison
90 Day Fiancé has had a number of cast members over the years claim that the franchise faked part of their story on the show, but few have been as vocal about that as Stephanie Davison. The former participant of 90 Day Fiancé recently shared some behind-the-scenes secrets of how producers allegedly film the series, and how they actually handle couples' storylines.
Stephanie Davison spoke to In Touch about her time on the series and stated how producers allegedly ran her storyline when she was involved in the series. Davison claimed that one form of manipulation came in the interview segments, in which producers would prompt for responses to questions in an interesting way.
Stephanie Davison said that producers would ask her to repeat her thoughts in a couple of different tones, which she believed was done in an effort to craft the storyline that they wanted for her bit of the season. It certainly sounds like a weird way to film a 90 Day Fiancé storyline, and one that would give a series more freedom to craft a narrative.
On the flip side, 90 Day Fiancé producers may do that because they are just as in the dark on how a couples' romance may play out over the long term. Say if Stephanie Davison and Ryan Carr ultimately got married one day and had a wonderful experience, it would make sense to have a happier cut for a segment in order to not confuse the audience. That may sound fake, but given how we only see select portions of the couples' romances, perhaps it would ultimately serve the purpose of delivering a storyline that's more truthful than not.
90 Day Fiancé fans may be wary of Stephanie Davison's claims, especially since she's had an ax to grind against the series since the early weeks. With that said, Stephanie also mentioned how 90 Day Fiancé removed the rule that women sit at odd angles during the tell-all to better expose their legs and cleavage, which had been mentioned by Anfisa Nava (who has found success elsewhere) in the past. That doesn't necessarily validate the previous claim, but certainly worth consideration by fans as to how easy it would be for producers to shift a storyline.
90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? airs on TLC Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET, with episodes pre-premiering on Discovery+ Friday mornings. Stephanie Davison isn't the only former cast member in the headlines as of late, as news of Deavan Clegg's third pregnancy may have accidentally leaked to the masses.
