Daredevil Season 2 Trailer: First Look At Punisher And Elektra

So. Many. Months. That’s how long we’ll be waiting for a weekend-binge of Daredevil Season 2 on Netflix. But no one has to wait any longer to get a first look at what we can expect from the show’s second year, which includes the debuts of The Punisher and Elektra. Check it out at the 1:40 mark in the video below.

There are many instances where short, teasery trailers have left me high and dry, but those 20-or-so seconds of new Daredevil left me wading in drool. I may or may not have made gun motions with my hand whenever Jon Bernthal is heard saying “Bang.” And now I kind of want to get this tattooed on me somewhere.

It’s not exactly clear how Daredevil will introduce The Punisher into the storyline, but we know that Matt Murdock’s hero will be facing the bullet-spewing vigilante in a head-butting way for at least part of the season. Bernthal is a righteous choice for Frank Castle, and he seems like the kind of guy who doesn’t care whose skull he’s busting, so long as his iconic skull logo remains intact.

Oh, and The Punisher isn't the only highly anticipated character that shows up in the promo. There's also Foggy! No, wait, I mean Father Lantom! No, that's not it either. It's Claire Temple! Nope. It's...ELEKTRA!

”daredevil”

Though we don't get much of a sense of what Élodie Yung's assassin is like on a personal level, that piercing stare makes it seem like she's deciding exactly which of the people she's looking at is most worthy of getting an ass-kicking. My guess is, it's "all of them."

Elektra's introduction into the Daredevil universe is also cloaked in mystery, as we just know she'll enter the story as part of Matt's past that will presumably have a big impact on his future. We don't expect them to be best buddies or mortal enemies, but something in between, possibly with some steamy romance popping up at some point. Nothing like that is going to happen with The Punisher, though. Or Stick.

Though we'll probably be waiting on an exact release date for a while, Daredevil Season 2 will hit Netflix at some point in 2016.
