Final Fantasy Type-0 Localization Still Possible

Let's not get our hopes up too high, but there is at least an inkling of hope regarding the possible Western localization of Final Fantasy Type-0. Square Enix's North American and European CEO has responded to queries about bringing the game to the West, after previously making it known that Euro and American ports were highly unlikely.

Dual Shockers spotted a new entry on the Operation Suzaku website, where they are a small vocal group trying to convince Square Enix to port Final Fantasy Type-0 to Western territories.

As mentioned, Square's CEO of North America and Europe, Phil Rogers, (or should we call him Mr. Rogers?) made a brief comment to Operation Suzaku about the situation involving Final Fantasy Type-0, saying...

I’ve seen your Facebook page and I hear your question clearly. I’ve posted on the blog that this is one of the first questions I’m going to tackle. It’s not a quick question to answer but I’m looking into it and I’ll update everyone when I can.

It sounds like Mr. Rogers is actually putting some effort into making this thing happen, but it will all depend on what the higher ups on the Japanese side have to say. Some of you might remember that one article on Polygon that discussed the arduous process of getting a game localized for a different region and why some publishers just don't bother going through the process of localization at all.

Circling back around to Final Fantasy Type-0, this is a game – out of the many exclusive Japanese games that are out there – that just stands head and shoulders above a lot of other RPGs out there. In fact, many gamers have stated that after Final Fantasy IX, this is what a REAL Final Fantasy game should have been.

The combat is downright sick, the graphics are great and the story seems pretty engaging. For the most part Final Fantasy Type-0 has only received praise, praise and more praise, making it just as highly anticipated as Final Fantasy XV. So what's the hold up? Why won't Square port it outside of Japan?

The whys have never been answered and it's come to a point where most people are willing to throw money at Square to play the game. Whether or not Mr. Rogers will be able to get the title localized or not is a long shot but I'm at least glad he's trying.

Considering that most gamers probably won't be able to get their hands on Final Fantasy Type-0 you can check out some awesome gameplay footage of the video below. Mr. Rogers, it's all up to you!
