Watch Will Smith Smother Jaden With Affection On Ellen

You have to figure that having Will Smith be your dad has to have its perks. No doubt, it's helped young Jaden Smith get his acting career off the ground, and there are surely regular opportunities for some Independence Day movie-quote riffing, which I like to imagine happens all the time in the homes of Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman. But the downside for a teen in the spotlight might be having a parent so overcome with adoration and pride that they might go out of their way to embarrass their child in front of millions of people. Such was the case for the After Earth stars this week when the father-son duo visited The Ellen Degeneres Show. It's hard not to smile, watching those two together.

No 14-year-old kid wants their parents gushing over them in public or embarrassing them with enthusiastic displays of affection, but Jaden Smith grinned and bore it on Ellen's show this week, even as his father adorably pounced on top of him to demonstrate just how much he loves his son.

The video has gone viral, racking up more than two-million views and working its way up YouTube's charts since going online earlier this week. Will and Jaden Smith are set to star in the upcoming sci-fi thriller After Earth, in which they'll play father and son, which shouldn't be that much of a stretch for the two. But give that they're both military rangers, something tells me there will be a bit less PDA among these two on screen. After Earth arrives in theaters May 31.
