Halo 4 First ViDoc Shows Off Gameplay, Graphics, Improvements

343 Industries and Microsoft Game Studios released a new behind-the-scenes video documentary for Halo 4, and fans of the long-running FPS series won't be disappointed as plenty of gameplay and improved graphical effects are on display in the ViDoc.

Following up on the recently released screenshots for Halo 4, Microsoft let loose the first in a series of ViDocs for the upcoming mega-blockbuster shooter due out this fall to help promote the game and let gamers know that just because Bungie has moved on to bigger and better things, Halo is still a priority.

The video did a good job of showing off the game without giving away any spoilers. We do know that Chief gets an armor upgrade but they don't say how, and we see that the Warthog still makes a return to the series but again, they don't show how. All we do know is that Chief and Cortana end up on what's expected to be an ancient Forerunner artifact where Chief will face off against an even stronger foe than those presented in the earlier games.

We also get to see a bit of the multiplayer and the Spartan armor customization seems to return, with the Spartan IV armor looking especially sexy. Man-cannons, team-play and massive play arenas also seem to still be on the table based on the little they showed off, so that's a good sign.

We'll keep you posted on additional news and media assets as they become available for Halo 4, which is due out this fall for the Xbox 360.
