Upcoming Movies In 2026: New Movie Release Dates

We have officially made it through the first two months of the 2026 movie schedule, and things look like they're about to start picking up. We've had some great new horror flicks and a few heart-stopping thrillers so far, but now we're about to speed things up with some of the most anticipated releases of the year, only weeks away.

With some major upcoming book-to-screen adaptations, family-friendly adventures, and even more horror, there are so many big-screen experiences (and streaming exclusives) about to premiere, moviegoers have plenty to get excited about in March 2026 and beyond. April 2026 Movie Releases

With one of the most anticipated video game movies, a new A24 drama, and the long-awaited upcoming music biopic about the "King of Pop," it's safe to say that April is going to be a good month at the movies.

May 2026 Movie Releases

A little less than 50 years after George Lucas started the massive franchise, David Filoni will give the world its first new Star Wars movie in nearly a decade with The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Before that big release, we’ll be treated to all sorts of new movies like The Devil Wears Prada 2, Mortal Kombat II, and Deep Water. It’s going to be one hell of a way to kick off the summer blockbuster season.

June 2026 Movie Releases

To say that the summer blockbuster season is going to be impressive in 2026 is quite an understatement. There will be so many epic movies to kick off the summer with in June, including Masters of the Universe, the return of the legendary Steven Spielberg with his mysterious Disclosure Day movie, and the upcoming DC movie starring Milly Alcock as Clark Kent’s cousin, which is now simply titled Supergirl.

July 2026 Movie Releases

There will not just be fireworks in the sky, but also on the big screen, with July 2026 releases like Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Disney’s live-action adaptation of Moana, Tom Holland’s fourth solo MCU movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is bringing Jon Bernthal’s Punisher to the big screen, and more. Oh, and don’t forget about the return of Illumination’s most fearsome yet adorable monsters, who’ll be back for Minions 3.

August 2026 Movie Releases

Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway star in David Robert Mitchell’s mysterious thriller The End of the Street, and the previously shelved Looney Tunes movie, Coyote vs. Acme will finally see the light of day (this better not be a painting on the side of a rock) when August 2026 comes around. September 2026 Movie Releases

There’s going to be a lot of variety at the box office when September comes around. If you want horror, you’ll have the new Resident Evil movie. What about comic book movies? October 2026 Movie Releases

Fans of thrillers and all things horror can expect something spooky to hit the big screen in October 2026 but the month will also deliver some variety with Alejandro G. Iñárritu and Tom Cruise's Digger and The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, a new animated film based on the beloved series. Then there’s Street Fighter, The Social Reckoning, and surely other surprises ahead of Halloween.

The YA novel movie adaptation trend is making a comeback in November 2026, with the release of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, starring Joseph Zada as a young Haymitch, and a new take on The Chronicles of Narnia from Greta Gerwig, which will be available with a Netflix subscription the following month:

The first month of the year is typically seen as the worst for Hollywood, but that’s been changing in the past few years.
