80s Series The Fall Guy Is The Next To Become A Movie

OK, there's reviving the 80s for profit, and then there's just scraping the bottom of the barrel. The A-Team might not have been the classiest entertainment the decade had to offer, but it at least had significant name recognition and a reasonable claim toward being a camp classic. But The Fall Guy? The show about Lee Majors as a Hollywood stunt man by day and bounty hunter by night? I'm sure there are a few people who remember it fondly, but are they really lining up to see a movie version?

DreamWorks apparently hopes so, as The Los Angeles Times reports that the studio is planning a reboot of the series, apparently inspired by what Fox did with The A-Team. They're in the early development stages and are in the process of looking for a writer, but it wouldn't surprise me to see this one move forward relatively quickly. The Fall Guy may not have that much name recognition, at least among the target teen summer movie audiences, but the concept is brilliantly simple and easily adaptable to a modern setting. Do we need it? No. Will we accept as if we have all the other crap this summer? Of course.
