The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Fans Can Finally Get Their Hands On Collectibles

CD Projekt Red is working with J!nx and Dark Horse to release a series of The Witcher collectible figures, along with other accessories such as a replica sword, apparel, busts, and jewelry replicas. The figures and other accessories will launch starting this summer, with more figures releasing this fall.

In the press release they mention that they will have general characters and themes borrowed from the Polish RPG series but they will also have specific characters and items featured in the 2015 outing of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This includes figures based on Wild Hunt King, Eredin, the monster slayer himself, Geralt, the sorceress Yennefer, Ciri, and Geralt's traveling companion, Triss.

According to Rafa? Jaki, the business development manager at CD Projekt Red, the figures are being made after a lot of fans begged and requested for them to be made after they played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, stating in the press release...

Wild Hunt fans requested figures of Geralt, Ciri, Yen and other collectibles multiple times, and now, thanks to this cooperation, we're finally able to fulfill these requests without putting ‘an arm and a leg’ on the price tag. I truly hope Witcher fans notice all the love and the excellent craftsmanship put into creating them!

Speaking of costing and arm and a leg, fans of the series won't have to worry about paying top dollar to get their hands on the figures. The Geralt, Yennefer and Triss figures will launch first and will only contain a price point of $29.99. Compared to other figurines and collectibles – like the ones from Play Arts Kai or Kotobukiya where figures for Titanfall or Batman: Arkham Knight can cost anywhere between $99 and $399 – this is a very serviceable entry fee for fans who would like to have some sort of physical collectible of The Witcher characters.

The figures will be available both at retail and online from Witcherstore.com and Jinx.com.

These collectibles come off the recent nomination that The Witcher 3 received from the Writers Guild of America. While it didn't win, it was recognized for its outstanding writing in the video game medium. Before that, it also received a nomination and a win for from the 2015 Game Awards where it walked away with a much-deserved GOTY award. It was basically a nod from the industry for not just the five years they invested into working on the game but also the development and time they put into crafting the first two Witcher games where they toiled at bringing Geralt and others to life based on Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski's works.

The Witcher really hit some mainstream status with the third game after being more niche with the first two outings. Additionally, having a multi-platform release on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One helped spread the game further within the community compared to the first two outings, which were limited to PC and later the PC and the Xbox 360.

Those looking to get their hands on the collectibles can look for the Geralt figurine to kick off the pack in July of this year. The other figures will slowly roll out thereafter leading up to more figurine and accessory releases this fall.
