Adam Scott is beginning to take his career to bigger and bigger places. It was recently announced that Scott and his wife Naomi have launched a new label called Gettin' Rad Productions and they have already put out their first project, with Adult Swim on Cartoon Network airing the 15-minute special The Greatest Event in Television History (which Adam also starred in and co-directed). But he's not just targeting the small screen with his new company, but the big screen as well and now he's optioned his first novel to turn into a feature.
In an article about Adam Scott's big steps forward, THR mentions that Gettin' Rad Productions is now developing a film based on the Chuck Klosterman novel Downtown Owl, which was released in 2009. Oren Uziel, who also attached to write the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot, is attached for the adaptation, which tells the story of a small North Dakota town that has been figuratively frozen in time.
Talking about the book with the trade, Scott said, "It’s lovely and moving and funny. We just thought it’s a really great story about people that I relate to but also small enough that it would make a good first film out of the gate for us."
On the acting side, Scott can be seen most Thursday nights on NBC's Parks and Recreation and will next be seen alongside Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand in The Guilt Trip. In 2013 he will star as the lead in the indie comedy A.C.O.D., as well as Ben Stiller's remake of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
