So that was the international trailer for The Hangover Part III, and I doubt I’m alone in thinking, “Didn’t I see this international trailer somewhere before? Well you did, and it was last month, when they called it a teaser trailer. It’s understood that some international cultures read characters in different ways from Americans, so maybe that’s the reason why this jumbled up version of the teaser trailer counts as its own thing.
There doesn’t appear to be anything significantly different except for the sequencing. Same amount of “It ends tonight,” mentality, same amount of animal abuse. Why are they in Vegas again? Oh yeah, to “end this thing tonight,” and to “get it ended on this night,” and “to make sure morrow n’er comes to passeth without it having been ended thus.”
So at least the final two promotional posters are a little different, even if John Goodman’s poster was sort of shown in the preview. So let’s look at that one first.
Well he’s got Alan (Zack Galifianakis) possibly tied up as a hostage, although Alan could just be reaching to pull a potato gun out of his ass, or whatever wild and wacky things they’ll make the character do to top himself in this one. Goodman always looks good when he’s dressed to impress. And now let’s take a look at the second one, which features Ken Jeong’s Mr. Chow parachuting into the city. Probably to overstay his welcome and show his genitalia.
We’re probably all lucky he even has his pants on for this poster. The Hangover Part III hits theaters May 24, and will hopefully leave audiences laughing rather than watching for the “No animals were harmed in the making of this film” note in the credits. To close things out, here's the new 30-second TV spot for the film, which actually has about four seconds more new footage than the international trailer, even though it still starts off with that beyond annoying “Ave Maria” gag.
