Scooby-Doo has seen numerous reincarnations in its decades of existence, and the next movie, which is going straight to video (DVD, Blu-ray, VOD and digital download) will apparently see the Hanna-Barbera characters colliding with the professional wrestling world. And in turn, a number of professional wrestlers will go animated for the film. Want to see The Miz in cartoon form? It's on the way!

Jeff Brown, Executive Vice President and General Manager, TV, Family & Animation, Warner Home Video and Michael Luisi, President, WWE Studios made the announcement this week that WB and WWE Studios are teaming up to co-produce a Scooby-Doo animated feature, which will have Scooby and his pals solving a mystery at WrestleMania. The movie will have WWE Superstars and Divas Triple H, John Cena, Kane, The Miz, Brodus Clay, Santino Marella, Sin Cara and AJ appearing in cartoon-from and lending their voices to their respective roles. Also joining in is WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, who will lend his voice to his character.

There's no mention of the title yet, but here's the description for the film:

When Shaggy and Scooby win tickets to WrestleMania, the entire gang travels in the Mystery Machine to WWE City to attend the epic event. However, when a mysterious ghostly bear appears and threatens to ruin the show, Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred work with WWE Superstars to solve the case.

As someone who grew up in the era when nothing chased Saturday morning cartoons quite like a bit of wrestling (American Gladiators may be the closest exception there), I approve of this planned mash-up. And I expect wrestling fans will be eager to see the Scooby versions of some of the WWE Superstars and Divas.
