Watch Justice League’s Jason Momoa Throw An Axe Like A Total Badass

Despite already releasing three movies in theaters, the DC Extended Universe is still very much in its infancy. And even though the first three outings were critical messes, anticipation for the DC heroes to unite and kick ass has never been higher. The next installment in the DCEU is Gal Gadot's solo movie Wonder Woman, which will be followed by all the big heroes teaming up for Zack Snyder's Justice League. Perhaps the biggest badass in the team is Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa, who will be playing Arthur Curry/ Aquaman in the DCEU. We already know he can kick ass and take names, and now it appears he's got skills with a variety of weapons.

Jason Momoa is always pretty phenomenal on social media, and today is no exception. Momoa just released a video on his Instagram throwing an axe, drinking, and being the coolest guy ever. Check it out.

Seriously, though. How is that even possible? Casting Jason Momoa as Aquaman is pure genius.

The above video shows how trained Jason Momoa is with various weapons. During his tenure on Game of Thrones, Khal Drogo usually rocked a sythe or sword, so Momoa has that going for him. And now apparently he can throw axes on target while slightly inebriated.

This form of weapon training should speak well regarding Aquaman's signature weapon. In the comics, Aquaman typically uses a large triton in melee battles. It's safe to assume that Jason Momoa has been training to use a triton for his role in Justice League and Aquaman. This will definitely make for exciting battles in the DCEU, and make Aquaman the badass he should be. We got to see a glimpse of this version during his cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where he was downright terrifying.

Aquaman is typically one of the sillier DC heroes. While the comics have tried to make him cooler in recent years, he started off pretty lame. Aquaman had the power to talk to fish, use them to fight his battles, and would even ride an oversized seahorse. Since then, he's lost a hand, gained a hook, and became a more deadly and cool comic book hero. Luckily, the DCEU cast a behemoth badass for the role, so he might end up being a fan favorite in no time.

Justice League will fly into theaters November 17th, 2017. Jason Momoa will next be seen in the Netflix original series Frontier, which drops on January 20, 2017.
