Evangeline Lilly's Still Training For Ant-Man And The Wasp, And This Time She's Showing Off Her Abs

The sequel to Marvel's Ant-Man is currently filming and while production has already begun, it hasn't slowed down Evangeline Lilly's workout regimen to get her into superhero shape. In a new image posted to Lilly's Twitter feed, we see her getting ready to take down some poor dummy named Bob. Lilly looks to be in amazing shape, most notably here we can't help but notice her impressive abs. Check it out.

This image follows on one that Evangeline Lilly posted a couple weeks ago showing off that she's got massive arms to go with her killer abs. Lily has a lot to live up to, as even though most people have their eye on Captain Marvel as the Marvel's big female superhero coming out party, The Wasp will actually hit the screen several months ahead of Captain Marvel, making Lilly Marvel's first female hero to have her name in a movie title.

Evangeline Lilly already had to be in decent shape in the first Ant-Man film, as she started the story capable of beating the crap out of Scott Lang. We're assuming that since she received the updated Wasp suit in the end credits of that movie, she's been working even harder. We're wondering if Paul Rudd's Scott Lang is going to be in shape like this.

Exactly what Ant-Man and the Wasp is going to be about is anybody's guess at this point. When we last left Scott Lang he was being broken out of superhero jail by Captain America, which would seem to imply Lang is a fugitive, good thing he can shrink really small. Of course, Avengers: Infinity War also takes place prior to the Ant-Man sequel, so there's a lot that could still happen to these two title characters before we even get to their movie. Whether the movie will tell a standalone story or be a key part of bridging Avengers 3 and Avengers 4 together is not clear. Although, we do know that Hope Van Dyne's mother Janet will be a key part of the film, as Michelle Pfeifer has been cast in the role.

We're certainly hopeful that Evangeline Lilly's work here will go beyond that of simply appearing in Ant-Man and the Wasp. She would be a great addition to the Avengers and the larger MCU in Phase 4. Unfortunately, based on the fact that expectations at this point are that most of Phase 4 will be focused on outer space, there may not be many plans for The Wasp after Avengers 4 wraps up. If that's the case, hopefully, they have more for her to do between now and then.

We can't wait to see Evangeline Lilly go full superhero when Ant-Man and the Wasp arrives in theaters in July of 2018.
