Watch Michelle Pfeiffer Push Jennifer Lawrence About Kids In Maybe The Creepiest Mother! Clip Yet

There's been a lot of talk regarding Darren Aronofsky's latest project mother! in recent days. Much of it is just gossip though, as mother! is out in just a few short weeks, and we still don't really have a good concept of what the upcoming thriller and horror project is about. We do know, however, that it will star Michelle Pfeiffer, Jennifer Lawrence, Ed Harris and Javier Bardem, and that it will be creepy AF. That has been highlighted even more thoroughly thanks to the clip Paramount Pictures released this week, which features Pfeiffer grilling Jennifer Lawrence about having babies. Check it out.

In the clip, Michelle Pfeiffer at first seems like she's about to give some friendly advice, but instead she goes straight for the jugular, suggesting to Jennifer Lawrence's character, a virtual stranger to her, that she have kids. Lawrence looks unnerved as Pfeiffer ambles around, dropping in and out of her sightline, but it's a revelation to Pfeiffer when she realizes that maybe the much younger woman does want children. It's succinct, cryptic and pretty thrilling. It also still doesn't tell us much about the upcoming movie.

With mother! as a title, it's been pretty clear that maternity is going to be at least somewhat central to the plot. There has been speculation on the Internet that mother! could be somewhat like Rosemary's Baby, but those ideas have remained firmly in the range of speculation. One thing is for certain: Darren Aronofsky has already said there is a "secret at the core" of the film also noting,

It's a cruise missile shooting into a wall, this film. I want audiences to be prepared for that and prepped that it's a very intense ride.

If you haven't caught the mother! trailer yet, we guarantee it will shed less light on the movie than the clip above, although it does give us the shivers and a clearer idea of the flick's tone.

Darren Aronofsky's mother! will finally unveil its mysteries when it hits theaters on September 15. In fact, September should be a really interesting month at the movies, with IT and more also coming up. To see what all is heading to theaters, take a look at our full guide.
