Megan Fox Recalls Being In Awe Of Mary-Kate And Ashley Olsen When They All Acted Together

A lot of moviegoers were introduced to Megan Fox in 2007’s Transformers, but Fox has been professionally acting since 2001. In fact, her first credited role is in Holiday in the Sun, the direct-to-video movie starring Mary-Kate and Ashely Olsen. While nowadays Fox has achieved her own level of notable fame, at the time, she was awestruck at getting to perform with the Full House alums.

While promoting her new horror movie Till Death on Access, Megan Fox discussed her time working on Holiday in the Sun, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. When asked what she remembered about working on that movie, Fox responded:

I remember we filmed that in the Bahamas. I remember I used to have to go - because I lived in Florida - to the Bahamas on those tiny little sea planes. There's always a hurricane, as is the case in Florida. So it was always like a near death experience everyone time I had to fly in to film. And I remember the Olsen twins had the most amazing closet full of clothes. I was in awe of all the clothes and how fashionable there were back then. We were kids, and obviously they went on to become incredible fashion designers with The Row and their other companies. But I remember wishing I was tiny enough to wear all those clothes. I wasn't small enough.

Megan Fox appeared in Holiday in the Sun as Brianna Wallace, a spoiled heiress who competed with Ashely Olsen’s Alex for the affections of Ben Easter’s Jordan, who worked at the resort where all three girls are saying. So while Fox’s character obviously didn’t get along with Alex and Mary-Kate’s Madison, Fox herself walked away wishing that she could have delved into the sisters’ wardrobe on the production; if only the height difference hadn’t prevented that. As for the Holiday in the Sun production as a whole, it sounds like Fox had a pleasant enough time working on that, although those pesky hurricanes certainly didn’t make things easier.

Holiday in the Sun was among the many direct-to-video comedy movies that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen worked on during their post-Full House years, but it was also among the final projects they performed in. The sisters retired from acting in 2004, with New York Minute being their final movie, as well as appearing on The Simpsons and Saturday Night Live that same year. As Megan Fox noted, the Olsens were into fashion at a young age, and these days they contribute to the fashion industry through their label The Row. Their sister Elizabeth Olsen, on the other hand, is killing it in the acting world, most recently through WandaVision.

As for Megan Fox, as mentioned earlier, she was catapulted to worldwide stardom for playing Mikaela Banes in the first two Transformers movies, with her other notable film credits including Jennifer’s Body, Friends with Kids, two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies and last year’s Rogue. Fox has also has a solid amount of TV credits on her resume, including Hope & Faith, New Girl and Legends of the Lost with Megan Fox.

Those of you interested in seeing Megan Fox in Till Death can do so starting this Friday, July 2. If you’re curious about other movies coming out later this year, browse through our 2021 release schedule.
