Phase Four of The Marvel Cinematic Universe has officially begun, to the delight of the countless fans out there. While there are a trio of new movies arriving over the next few months, fans are looking to future projects like Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. And the new Cassie Lang is getting ripped for her Marvel debut.

Actress Kathryn Newton (Big Little Lies, Freaky) is taking on the mantle of Cassie Lang in Ant-Man 3. She marks the third actress playing Scott’s daughter, with the Avengers: Endgame time jump allowing her to rapidly age. And Newton has been hitting the gym ahead of joining the superheroic property. Holy heroic abdominals. Kathryn Newton looks ready to get into the action for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. It remains to be seen how Cassie will factor into the story, but some fans are hoping she becomes a size-changing hero in her own right.

The above images come to us from Kathryn Newton’s personal Instagram account. The 24 year-old actress hadn’t posted for a few weeks, explaining that she has seemingly been focusing on her current fitness regimen and filming Ant-Man 3. Janet van Dyne actress Michelle Pfeiffer has also been sharing footage from the gym, so Newton isn’t alone in that regard.

Indeed, the majority of actors who have major roles in the MCU are similarly focused on being as fit as possible during shooting. We’ve seen actors like Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, and Paul Rudd all get swole, before being featured in a gratuitous shirtless scene. Captain Marvel actress Brie Larson has also been getting crazy ripped ahead of filming The Marvels, as feeling strong helps her become Carol Danvers.

News of Cassie Lang’s recasting in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania was somewhat surprising for the fans, as we were already introduced to the grown-up version of the character in Avengers: Endgame. But the role transferred from Emma Cate Fuhrmann to Kathryn Newton, presumably because the latter actress has a bit more experience and recognition. It should be interesting to see how she makes this role her own, especially if becoming the superhero known as Stature.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is currently set to arrive in theaters on February 17th, 2023. But first Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will arrive September 3rd. In the meantime, check out the 2021 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.
