Welcome to the nineteenth edition of The Cord Cutter Podcast! The moment that many Marvel fans have been waiting for since Daredevil Season 2 is almost finally upon us. In just a few weeks (on November 17, to be exact) Marvel will unleash the 13-episode freshman season of The Punisher on Netflix. This week, you can join Mick, Adrienne and their guest, CinemaBlend Associate Editor Adam Holmes, as we talk about all our hopes for this new entry in the MCU! While The Punisher was not, originally, part of the planned shows that Marvel had in mind for Netflix (or any other network, as far as we know), the character of Frank Castle became a standout in the second season of Daredevil when it premiered in March 2016.

And, many people would say that a large part of the appeal to this version of Frank lies in the intense (or, as some would say, hardcore) portrayal of Jon Bernthal as the deeply damaged vet with a score to settle and a lot of anger to channel by the way of killing a wide variety of very bad men. Even though we've seen The Punisher in live action three times before, Bernthal's work as the character is the only one that seems to have really connected both with fans of Frank Castle and those new to the anti-hero.

In this week's episode, we'll do a deep dive into what we know about The Punisher, what the show might mean for Marvel's Netflix shows, how this series should be different from its predecessors and everything we're looking forward to (or nervous about) with regard to what's bound to be an action-packed new show. Ready to dive in? Great! Read on to get the lowdown on this week's podcast and then listen for yourself above!
