Subscribe To ReelBlend #55: LEGO 2 Reviews, Jake Gyllenhaal And Meeting James Cameron Updates
Fifty-five is a nice, round number. So the ReelBlend boys gave you a nice, well-rounded episode this week. Bells and whistles were turned down. The Man of Steel debate didn’t happen. It was peaceful, easy feelings all around as the guys ran through News, a series of spoiler-free reviews, and Jake’s story about spending time with James Cameron.
What? Oh yeah, that’s a great story.
But before that, ReelBlend this week tackled some top trailers that were getting people’s attentions. Kevin didn’t love the Pet Sematary trailer, but not for the reasons you might think. Have you watched it yet? Give it a spin.
The guys also caught up on the Super Bowl spots, which transitioned into a conversation of “How long is too long?” when it comes to a possible three-hour Avengers: Endgame cut. Basically, their takeaway is, “Make that sucker as long as it needs to be!” We’re sitting through it, no matter what the Russo Brothers decide to leave in.
While covering Alita: Battle Angel this week in Los Angeles, Jake ran into James Cameron on the red carpet, and got to ask him a few questions. This made Kevin insanely jealous, which made for some very good podcast.
And then the guys gave spoiler-free reviews of this week’s top releases, from Cold Pursuit and What Men Want to The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.
The #Blend Game this week was dedicated to Jake Gyllenhaal, which proved to be quite difficult. Sean’s pick for his favorite/best Gyllenhaal movie is still very surprising to us. What would you say his best movie or film performance is? Let us know in the comments.
