Why Tamar Braxton Shaved Her Head
Tamar Braxton is sporting a bald head these days, and there's a damn good reason why. Shortly after the singer and reality personality freed her head of hair, Braxton hit up Instagram to explain why she decided to leave her locks behind. As she notes, her shaved head represents personal freedom in her liberated moment.
A new Instagram post showcasing Tamar Braxton's hairless head offered an impassioned response for why the R&B musician decided to go smooth.
The response comes only a day after Tamar Braxton's released the video of her head shaving on her same Instagram account. The clip showed merely a snippet of the process, with a caption proclaiming Braxton was "finally free" of the restraints brought by her bouncing blonde hair on her noggin.
Tamar Braxton's new hairdo (or lack thereof) is one of a series of changes made by the singer lately. In October, the musician separated from her husband, Vincent Herbert. They were together for nine years before calling it quits. Braxton claimed she didn't want to be married "for the sake of saying so," though there were rumors of Herbert's infidelities, including one about getting another woman pregnant. Braxton has since denied that's the case. She also recently put her $15 million house on the market last fall. So for Tamar Braxton, it's a string of new decisions. Out with the old, in with the new. This new haircut is evidently part of an ongoing transformation for the former host of The Real. She's going to let her scalp recover after years of wigs and weaves, and seems to be over the moon about her decision.
Tamar Braxton isn't the only celebrity who recently shaved their head. Cara Delevigne, for instance, was seen hairless over the summer. She ditched her hair for her new movie Life in a Day, co-starring Jaden Smith, which is expected to hit theaters later this year. Alexander Skarsgard also decided to go bald recently for a new role himself. He shaved it off for a film called The Hummingbird Project, which is also expected to arrive in theaters this year.
Meanwhile, as a musician, Tamar Braxton released Bluebird of Happiness, her fifth studio album, back in September. It's also said to be her final studio album. Braxton is also the star of the WE reality series Tamar & Vince, which is going to go through quite a change in light of their separation. The drama that comes from their uncoupling is covered in its newest fifth season. Braxton claims the break-up wasn't merely for the ratings, though. If the show returns, you should expect to hear more from Tamar Braxton talking about her newest haircut.
