On Monday, Andy Dick was charged with one count of misdemeanor sexual battery and one count of misdemeanor simple battery, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney's office. The controversial comedian reportedly made several lewd and inappropriate comments and allegedly touched a woman's butt twice as she passed him on the sidewalk earlier this year. The incident occurred on April 5th, according to the reports, and the woman reported the incident to the police soon after. This is not the first time Andy Dick has faced inappropriate sexual behavior allegations, and the actor is no stranger to controversy either, especially in recent years.
As it was reported by Variety, Andy Dick has notably gotten in trouble for two separate incidents of crude sexual behavior. In October, he was fired from the independent film Raising Buchanan following claims of sexual harassment and misconduct. Additionally, in 2007, Andy Dick was kicked off the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live! after he repeatedly touched and tried to kiss Ivanka Trump. The talk show host and several production assistants were seen literally carrying Andy Dick off the set of the late-night ABC program. The clip made its way onto television, and it subsequently earned a great deal of controversy when it hit online.
It's also worth noting, there are several other claims of Andy Dick allegedly indulging in indecent exposure while under the influence. And Andy Dick is no stranger to controversy in general, although this incident might soon get the comedian in serious trouble.
Additionally, TMZ claims Andy Dick is pushing himself back into drinking, with his wife, Lina Sved, claiming that Andy is violent towards her and their children. They have gotten court-ordered protection from him, it was reported earlier this year. Dick now has a temporary restraining order in place, where he must stay 100 yards away from her and her children. She cited a moment when Andy Dick allegedly broke two windows in the house. The comedian also recently made claims about licking and groping a photographer, and Dick recently threatened self-harm towards the end of last year.
For this latest incident, Andy Dick will head to court on July 8th in relation to these charges. More details are expected to arrive on a later date. Andy Dick is attached to several different projects at the moment, which includes Starf*cker later this year, Tidy's Tim next year and Ice Cream in the Cupboard on an undisclosed date, to name a handful of films with Andy Dick's name currently attached.
