Just a couple of days after NBC renewed its hit freshman drama, Revolution, the series is adding a big name to its executive producer cast. Farscape’s Rockne S. O’Bannon has signed on as an executive producer for Season 2 of the hit series, which will begin airing on NBC next fall. Additionally, CSI: New York’s Trey Calloway will be taking on a role as a co-executive producer for next season.

Famous for writing and executive producing on Farscape, O’Bannon has spent the last year working on a variety of projects, including writing for Syfy’s new series Defiance. He also created and executive produced The CW’s short-lived series, Cult, which aired a few episodes on Tuesdays before being shipped off to Fridays and eventually cancelled by the network. Cult unfortunately got a raw deal on the network, getting kicked off before the final episodes from Season 1 aired. Luckily, Revolution is a bit more of a ratings darling at its network and shouldn’t get the same poor treatment O’Bannon’s last project had.

According to THR, O’Bannon will serve as the number 2 guy after showrunner Eric Kripke on the series, which means he’s nabbed a pretty big behind-the-scenes role. Revolution still has a few more episodes to air in its first season. The Season 1 finale was pushed back into June after episode rescheduling went down during the Boston Marathon tragedy.

Revolution airs new episodes on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
