Stick scott glenn daredevil netflix

Warning: This article contains major plot spoilers for The Defenders. Tread carefully or just come back later, it's your life.

After years of build up, The Defenders finally arrived last weekend and showcased Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist teaming up to stop a plot from the Hand. The series as a whole is more okay than great, but that doesn't mean it wasn't without its bright spots and twists. One of the biggest moments from the series was the death of Stick, the blind mentor of Matt Murdock and all-around curmudgeon, at the hands (or sai) of Elektra. But, his murderer was herself resurrected, so what are the chances that this death will stick (pun intended)? Here's what actor Scott Glenn has to say:

I remember Jeph saying, "We're in the Marvel Universe. If Elektra kills you, that doesn't necessarily mean you're dead." And I said, "Okay." But for me, the show is over, unless I get a phone call, and then it will or won't [continue] depending on the deal and all of that stuff. . . . But when Jeph said that to me, he wasn't talking about flashbacks. He was talking about literally whatever is going on in that world where people do in fact come back from death.

First introduced in Daredevil as the one who taught Matt Murdock how to fight, Stick is a blind warrior who has been waging war against the Hand for most of his life. In The Defenders, he returned to aid the heroes of New York and provide them with some backstory on their mystical foes. Eventually, Stick is killed by the resurrected Elektra, who he essentially raised as a girl to fight the Hand. He's unceremoniously stabbed through the chest by a sword after he willing chooses not to land a killing blow on his former pupil. Comic book characters have come back from worse, and Scott Glenn told The Hollywood Reporter that he was told his character could always come back to life. However, until he gets that phone call, he's considering his days in the Marvel Universe over.

While the potential to see Stick again is on the table, it likely won't be for a long while. There are always flashbacks, but Scott Glenn will be busy for a while filming Castle Rock for Hulu, where he's a series regular. If that show takes off, it's unlikely he'd be able to pop into, say, Daredevil Season 3. Plus, in a superhero universe where death already kind of means nothing, they might want to hold back on resurrecting too many characters.

Scott Glenn's Stick will be missed, but you can always watch him anytime you want on Netflix. To learn about all the Netflix shows hitting the streaming service soon, make sure to check out our Netflix release guide.
