Legends Of Tomorrow Just Cast Damien Darhk's Daughter For Season 3

Courtney Ford True Blood

The Arrow-verse is no stranger to family drama. Whether it's Oliver and Thea Queen, the Lance Sisters, or Joe West's struggle to keep Wally West safe in his Kid Flash costume, The CW has a knack for focusing its stories on its heroes' familial conflicts. Now it's time for the villains to get a shot. We're a little over a month away from the Season 3 premiere of Legends of Tomorrow, and the show has cast actress Courtney Ford to play the daughter of Damien Darhk.

We've known for some time that Damien Darhk would return to the fold when Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 kicks off its October debut, and he'll be meaner and more dangerous than ever. And now we know he will bring his daughter Eleanor into the expanding ensemble fold as well -- as portrayed by True Blood and Dexter actress Courtney Ford -- in the season's fifth episode. Not much is known about Darhk's daughter yet, but the character has been described as intelligent, manipulative, and dangerous. Like father like daughter, right? Let's just keep our fingers crossed that Eleanor didn't inherit a knack for dark magic from her old man, and that the apple fell farther from the tree than we're led to believe.

Although EW has officially reported that Courtney Ford is heading to the time-travel world for Legends of Tomorrow Season 3, we still don't know much about how she will actually factor into the overarching narrative of the season, although it's noted that Ray Palmer will be super-attracted to her, despite not being one of the heroes. Oddly enough, the actress is actually the wife of Ray portrayer Brandon Routh, so our hope remains high that Ray's attraction towards her on Legends of Tomorrow could have long-term consequences. (On the show, obviously.) After all, Ray has excelled at building new A.T.O.M. suits, but things have seldom worked out for him in the romance department. Maybe the younger Darhk could change that -- although I'm sure it will suck if she ever takes Ray home to meet dad.

It's also worth mentioning that there are even more massive changes on the horizon for the Darhk family as Legends of Tomorrow moves into its third season. Although Season 2 of the time-travel series offered fans a somewhat campier version of the immortal villain, things will be different this time. Unlike in his previous appearance, the version of Darhk seen in the upcoming story arc will hail from a post-Season 4 Arrow timeline (somehow resurrected through mysterious means). With far more experience dealing with superheroes under his belt, this version of the character might not go down quite as easily as the one who joined the Legion of Doom last year. And having one's offspring around usually doesn't make things any easier.

Legends of Tomorrow will return for its third season on Tuesday, October 10, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW, right after the Season 4 premiere of The Flash. Courtney Ford will make her first appearance as Damien Darhk's daughter in the season's fifth episode.
