Daredevil Fans, And More Importantly Kingpin Fans, Should Get Excited For Season 3

Kingpin

Now that The Defenders is behind us, it's time to return focus to the solo efforts of Netflix's corner of the Marvel universe. New seasons of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist are on the way, but people are no doubt excited for the return of Daredevil, the flagship Marvel series. The superhero show has been filming Season 3, which will pay off the cliffhanger from the end on The Defenders. In addition to some new villains, fan-favorite Wilson Fisk is set to return and actor Vincent D'Onofrio teased that fans should start getting pumped now. According to D'Onofrio...

We've already shot some things that are just going to be neat for the fans. There's some awesome things that are very much in the history of Fisk and Daredevil, that people have been waiting for. We've already put some of that stuff in the can, and there's a lot more to do. I think they're gonna be very happy.

Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin has been a fan-favorite character since he first appeared in Daredevil Season 1, bashing some dudes head in with a car door. Ever since then, he's been regarded as one of the best villains in the MCU, and after his brief appearance in Season 2, will be returning to Season 3 of the show. How big of a role he'll play is unknown, but it sounds like he'll be making quite an impression in his episodes. Actor Vincent D'Onofrio revealed he's already shot some scenes for the season, and Fisk and Daredevil will definitely be back at each other's throats.

In an interview with Collider, Vincent D'Onofrio teased that fans will be happy with Kingpin in Season 3. While he obviously couldn't get into any specifics, he did say that there are things in store between Kingpin and Daredevil that fans have been waiting for. That could mean a lot of things, but given the ending of The Defenders, it could be that Season 3 will adapt the classic Daredevil storyline Born Again. In that story, Fisk found out Daredevil's secret identity and began to systematically destroy Matt Murdock's life piece by piece. Would people want to see that? Yes, very much so.

When we last saw Wilson Fisk, he was still in prison, so we could be seeing him getting out from behind bars in order to make Daredevil's life a living hell. We'll have to wait until Daredevil Season 3 to see what happens, which will debut at some point in 2018, so be sure to stick with CinemaBlend and we'll keep you updated on all the latest developments. In the meantime, stay up to date on all the big television shows hitting the airwaves next year with our midseason premiere and cancellation guides.
