RuPaul’s Drag Race Judge Michelle Visage Thinks The All Stars 3 Winner Was A Mistake

There's something about reality competition TV shows that have the ability to truly rile fans up. Shows like Big Brother and Survivor have die hard fans who follow every move closely, and VH1's RuPaul's Drag Race is no different. Currently in the midst of its whopping tenth season on TV, the campy series never fails to deliver on drama and surprise twists. One of those twists came during All Stars 3, where the eliminated queens decided who would be in the Top 2. Despite having the most wins, Shangela ultimately got the chop before the final lip synch. There were plenty of fans who were upset that Shangela didn't get the chance to compete, and that includes series judge Michelle Visage. She recently opened up about the twist, and flat out said that she should have won the crown over Trixie Mattel.

The biggest surprise to me and the rest of the world was Shangela not winning RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 3. And that wasn't up to me, that wasn't up to RuPaul, that was up to the girls, because Ru gave the queens that were eliminated the chance to vote for the final two, who they believe deserved to be in the finals. And they chose not to put Shangela in there. It was a mistake, but I believe they did it because of a personal relationship instead of watching how she did in the competition.

It looks like Michelle is still upset that the All Stars 3 cast shafted Shangela, and that she was eliminated without the chance to lip synch in the finals. This was also the case for BeBe Zahara Benet, although she had already won the first season. But Shangela had killed it through every single challenge, and won a ton of lip synchs in the process. Rather than taking this into account and going by points, it seemed most of the All Stars 3 girls put the two queens who they wanted to see up there in the finals.

While Michelle Visage's comments to EW don't mention All Stars 3 winner Trixie Mattel, she explicitly mentions that Shangela should have taken the crown. This didn't go unnoticed by Trixie, and she immediately took to Twitter to throw some shade back at Michelle. Check it out.

This is of course a reference to Michelle's time on Celebrity Big Brother UK. Michelle competed in the show's fifteenth season, ultimately taking fifth place. In order to jab her back for that veiled insult, Trixie Matell was sure to use her signature wit to get her two cents in.
