What in the multiverse is going on here? It appears the much-hyped "Elseworlds" crossover will feature Stephen Amell as The Flash and Grant Gustin as the Green Arrow in a mashup that Arrow-verse fans have never seen before. Stephen Amell assured fans the poster this wasn't fan-art or a prank in a follow-up tweet and noted he was wearing the Flash suit as he typed.

Of course, this picture only tells part of the story, and fans probably have a dozen more questions they likely won't know until closer to the Arrow-verse crossover. One big question we'd like confirmed is if this is the Oliver and Barry Allen of another Earth, or possibly the Earth One heroes in a weird situation where they had to switch suits. We don't know the answer to that for sure, although the tagline in the poster reading "destiny will be rewritten," could be an indicator as to what exactly is going on here.

Provided this is another Earth's Oliver Queen and Barry Allen, which one is which? Is Oliver Queen still Stephen Amell with added powers from the speed force? Is Barry Allen locked up in prison for revealing his secret identity while Iris is in witness protection? Speaking of which, are we to assume the cast of The Flash and Arrow still have their respective actors? If this means there's a Cisco Wild Dog, or a Diggle Harrison Wells, we're here for it.

It's also possible the only folks that switched roles in this scenario are Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell, and everyone else is in the usual roles they'd play on The Flash and Arrow. That also has interesting consequences as it would mean Amell's Flash is with Candace Patton's Iris and Gustin's Green Arrow is with Emily Bett Rickards' Felicity. It sounds crazy but remember "Crisis On Earth X" paired up Melissa Benoist and Stephen Amell. Flash and Green Arrow may be the only characters we see from this world in the crossover, so these questions don't have to be answered.

The Arrow-verse "Elseworlds" crossover is set to air on The CW in a three-night event that starts with The Flash Sunday, December 9 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Head on over to our fall premiere guide and see what other shows will be coming to television around that time or well before that.
