Starz's Power Is Ending With Season 6, But 50 Cent Says 'Don't Trip'

50 Cent Power

Power is still on track for Season 6 later this August, but after that, Starz is putting the kibosh on future seasons. It may be devastating news for fans, but former star and executive producer 50 Cent took to Instagram to tell fans "Don't even trip." The rapper-turned-actor popped on social media to say that with this end comes the start of something potentially much bigger.

While Power may die, the rapper shared on his Instagram four more shows are planned to take its place. Executive producer Courtney Kemp (not the one 50 was feuding with) elaborated on plans to Deadline, in what's being described as a Power universe.

As far as what that entails exactly, interested parties will need to wait for details. Kemp did say, however, that these 4 spinoffs may not be the ones audiences will expect.

We will follow some of your beloved Power characters beyond the scope of the initial series. But we will play with your expectations of which characters, where, and the master timeline of it all, creating a Power universe as unpredictable as the original.

News of Power spinoffs first surfaced back in October. When the news first leaked, there was no indication Starz was considering canceling Power which led to some speculation shows may run alongside the original. Now that Power is ending, it's all but guaranteed they won't, but there's a chance at least one spinoff may serve as a sequel series to the original.

With that being said, Courtney Kemp stating there's an intention to play with expectations and the master timeline potentially opens up the door for prequels to Power, or shows that take place alongside the same events of the Starz series. No dates for spinoffs have been announced, although it's being reported a writers room has already opened for one of the planned spinoffs.

Of course, Power still has another season to get through before its finale. Season 6 will feature some surprises, according to 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson), which will feature his special touch, and perhaps a surprise bigger than the big one with his character in the season prior. He said this:

I am proud that I was able to put a lasting stamp on this chapter with my directorial debut in an episode that features one of the wildest scenes ever on the show.

Basically, it sounds like even though Power is coming to an end, there's still plenty of reasons for the fans to tune in. Especially for those who want to see who may be getting a spinoff, as surely there will be some threads in the coming season that serve as a backdoor pilot or characters that get a bit more attention to build interest for their follow-up show.

The final season of Power airs on Starz Sunday, August 25. Keep up with any details on spinoffs here at CinemaBlend, as well as other news about television, movies, and pop culture.
