There is no getting around it, Arrow is rapidly approaching its series finale, and Stephen Amell is well aware the end is nigh. Last year, the beloved superhero drama announced that Season 8 would be its last and would be given a 10 episode-season wrapping up the show that kicked off the Arrow-verse. Flashback to a few months ago and Arrow wrapped filming on the final season replete with the stars’ sharing moving farewell posts.

Now, Stephen Amell has shared a touching Arrow photo ahead of the final airing and the series’ big return to the schedule. The show comes back from hiatus tonight (January 14) to help conclude the Arrow-verse’s latest question-raising crossover – “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” Having recently revealed the final trailer for the event, Stephen Amell is now sharing this highly-emotional poster filled with well-wishes from Team Arrow. Did the air just get really dry all of a sudden? You can spot countless moving messages to the emotional Arrow’s star scrawled all over the poster, including comments like "thanks for the great run" and more. It is an image that calls to mind people signing each other’s senior high school yearbooks. The common theme among the messages is “thank you,” with many expressing their gratitude to Stephen Amell.

The actor had previously revealed why he wanted Arrow to end with Season 8. However, it does not make the reality of the show’s impending finale any less emotionally-charged. This was evident both when the show wrapped and when it said goodbye to Emily Bett Rickards in a touching way. Basically, Team Arrow is tight.

Thankfully for fans, Emily Bett Rickards will be back as Felicity for the series finale. As for Stephen Amell, he will be back for it too after not appearing in Arrow’s penultimate episode. The reason for his absence is that the series will be setting off that Green Arrow and the Canaries spinoff in the second-to-last installment.

Emotions have been running high for fans as Arrow approaches its series finale, and they anxiously await Oliver’s ultimate fate. In the meantime, Stephen Amell should continue to be a source for pre-finale feels. The actor revealed that he spent Christmas Eve watching Arrow’s last episode with his mom. Her reaction to it was to be “not alright,” but “OK.”

Stephen Amell has also hinted that Arrow is going to have a “happy ending,” and time will tell how that comes to pass. Saying goodbye to a series is never easy, and for Team Arrow, it is the culmination of a nearly decade-long journey. The good news? Amell has other projects lined up, and he is open to returning to the Arrow-verse in the future, if it makes sense to do so.

If you think the lead-up to Arrow’s last episode has been emotional, just wait until after the finale airs. Depending on what happens and how everything shakes out, there could be another poignant post on the horizon from Stephen Amell. Either way, he should have something to say, so stay tuned!

The Arrow-verse crossover event “Crisis on Infinite Earths” will conclude tonight -- Tuesday, January 14, on The CW. Arrow is one many series returning new this winter. You can currently relive past seasons of Arrow on Netflix, where it is set to be joined by a lot of new 2020 content.
