The Mandalorian: Rosario Dawson Sounds Game To Play Star Wars' Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka Tano Star Wars

The Mandalorian Season 2 is deep into its development, and fans have been wondering what other Star Wars characters or surprises could appear in future episodes of the Disney+ series. Tons of viewers already have a short-list of dream characters who could appear, and many of those lists are topped by the Togruta Jedi and Anakin Skywalker's former Padawan, Ahsoka Tano. People want to see Ahsoka in live-action, and genre-friendly actress Rosario Dawson is down to make that dream a reality.

Taking to Twitter, one fan did the math on how old Ahsoka would be in The Mandalorian, and Rosario Dawson helped spread the word on social media in a positive way. As it turns out, Dawson is currently around the same age as Ahsoka during the era The Mandalorian covers, which means this could be a perfect chance for Jon Favreau to cast Dawson as the fan-favorite Jedi. Check out the post below.

It appears Rosario Dawson is at least mildly campaigning to play Ahsoka Tano, and not for the first time. The former Marvel TV star has been pushing to play the character on social media for a few years now, and while Star Wars has been busy on the live-action side of its television ventures, it seems Dawson hasn't yet had her name called up. That could potentially change soon, though, now that The Mandalorian and other upcoming shows can present opportunities to introduce animated characters into the live-action storytelling.

Rosario Dawson has been a popular choice to play the character from fans, though she's definitely not the only choice. Quite a few longtime fans responded to Dawson's tweet noting that voice actress Ashley Eckstein is also around the same age range as Ahsoka, a character she has voiced across Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and Star Wars Forces Of Destiny. That history, along with Eckstein's past television acting experience, do make her a great option for casting.

Of course, it would be ludicrous to get loud about such Mandalorian fan-casting if Disney+ has no actual plans to bring Ahsoka Tano into the live-action TV universe. There's technically no confirmation that The Mandalorian is looking to add Ahsoka in Season 2 or beyond, but the character's nod in Rise of Skywalker was not to be taken lightly, and it makes a certain amount of sense for her animated return in The Clone Wars' new season to be followed by a transition to a three-dimensional existence. Considering Jon Favreau managed to keep so many Season 1 secrets under lock and key, there's definitely a chance Ahsoka could be appearing in Season 2, though we might not realize it until she's actually on screen.
