Legends Of Tomorrow Is Going Full Walking Dead, And Zari Could Be In Danger
Spoilers ahead for the May 12 episode of Legends of Tomorrow Season 5, called "Freaks and Greeks," and light spoilers for the May 19 episode.
Legends of Tomorrow let the Legends get a win in "Freaks and Greeks" despite Sara still adapting to her superpowers and blindness, Mick going through a parental crisis, and Nate falling under the spell of a frat guy by the name of Dion, a.k.a Dionysus, the Greek god of wine. The end result was most of the Legends getting 24 hours of immortality after drinking from Dionysus' chalice, which could save their lives during next week's Walking Dead-esque zombie apocalypse. Unfortunately for Zari, she doesn't have the same protection as her fellow time-travelers.
Drinking from Dionysus' chalice grants immortality for 24 hours, which is handy for the Legends who are working to bring back Behrad and save Astra's mother. In an unlucky twist for the Legends, however, the liquid inside the chalice was wine, so Zari chose not to drink and trusted the Loom of Fate mission to the other Legends.
Sara, Ava, Mick, Nate, Charlie, Constantine, and Astra don't have to worry about death for one full day; the same isn't true for Zari, and the timing apparently couldn't be much worse, based on what's coming in the next episode. Called "I Am Legends," the episode will deliver this:
The core group of Legends will be the ones stuck in the London zombie apocalypse, with Gary elsewhere and Astra presumably up to something nefarious after how "Freaks and Greeks" ended for her. A zombie apocalypse is all well and good for the six Legends who are lucky enough to be immortal for 24 hours. What about Zari, though?
Zari 2.0 of Legends of Tomorrow Season 5 brings plenty of unique talents to the table, including but not limited to Shakespeare, social media, and apparently creating a new sorority in a matter of hours. None of those talents may prove particularly helpful in the event of the zombie apocalypse, and she's still fairly unpracticed with her powers. Honestly, she's the last one I would want to be vulnerable when Legends of Tomorrow goes full Walking Dead!
The good news is that the Legends have become a family, despite Zari not really fitting in right off the bat in Season 5. Sara, Ava, Mick, Nate, Charlie, and especially Constantine have every reason to rise to her defense. They've pulled off the impossible before, and while not having the Waverider will complicate things, surely Legends of Tomorrow won't kill off Zari 2.0 less than a season after more or less erasing Zari 1.0, right?

Well, check out the trailer for "I Am Legends" for a look at what's in store:
Zari isn't in much of the trailer, but there is one quick shot that features Constantine defending her with his hands magically on fire outside of a bus. Unfortunately, another shot reveals that she's with the six immortal Legends inside Constantine's house that will be broken into by the zombies.
Hopefully Zari's friends will keep in mind that she's particularly vulnerable when it comes to taking a stand against the undead! Also, hopefully this stand won't take more than 24 hours. Their version of immortality doesn't last forever!
See Legends of Tomorrow's version of a Walking Dead-esque zombie apocalypse with "I Am Legends," on Tuesday, May 19 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. Legends of Tomorrow will soon be the last Arrowverse series still going due to the premature finales of The Flash, Supergirl, and Batwoman, so be sure to tune in!
