Kris Jenner Revealed Keeping Up With The Kardashians Is Ending With Emotional Post And Throwback Pic

While we all know, logically, that nothing lasts forever, it has seemed as though there would never be a day when we couldn't look forward to more Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The reality series has shown us the many ups and downs of the Kardashian / Jenner clan since 2007, and made true celebrities out of Kim, Kris, Kourtney, Khloe and the rest of the extended family, while also helping them become moguls across the fashion industry. Now, though, the end is nigh, as Kris Jenner just announced with an emotional post and throwback pic, that the show will be ending.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians is set to return to E! for Season 19 on September 17, but Kris Jenner just took to Instagram to reveal that the family has decided to end their time on a reality TV staple with Season 20, which is due to air in 2021. Take a look at what she had to say about the end of an era:

Man, I know it's right there in Kris Jenner's post in black and white (and leopard print), but it's still hard to believe that KUWTK is coming to end after 14 years. That's a long time to allow strangers into your homes, relationships and most of the other aspects of your lives, though, so I can totally understand how it might have simply felt like the best time to wrap up the show.

Of course, this comes at a time when lots of careers and families are going through some serious changes anyway, and that's no different for the Kardashian / Jenner family. Filming on the series had to be cut short earlier this year (as with many other shows) while the producers figured out a crafty way to keep the family and the crew safe but still follow their lives during our enduring health crisis. Then, Kourtney's ex, Scott Disick, and his girlfriend Sofia Richie (apparently) broke up.

It wasn't long after that that Khloe had to come out against some haters who were saying that she no longer looked like herself, which she managed to do in a classy yet funny way. On top of all that, there were rumors of tension between Kris and Kylie Jenner after a claim from Forbes that the young cosmetics mogul had over-stated her wealth.

We already knew that Kourtney was planning to leave the show behind because of the “toxic environment” that resulted from having so much of her life on display for the world for so long. I wonder if her decision to stop helped the rest of the family realize that they could give up KUWTK, as well, especially once Kim and husband Kanye West began dealing with his latest series of troubling public messages, and decided not to document something that was already so out in the open and difficult for the reality show.

While it will be sad to see the family leave the airwaves, it's clear from Kris Jenner's post that they understand how much they owe to the show and all the fans who stuck around for so many years. So, at least fans know what their support during all this time meant to everyone on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Season 19 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians will debut on September 17, but for more to watch in the coming weeks, be sure to check out our guide to fall TV!
