90 Day Fiance's Paul And Karine Are Back Together, But What About The Show?

Paul Staehle 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? TLC

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? may be done for the season, but the drama in the lives of most of its participants continues in the off season. In one case, though, the drama seems to have stopped, as after a chaotic few months of headlines Paul Staehle and wife Karine Staehle are back together and living in their Louisville home. The couple mending their relationship may be a delight for some fans, but what does it mean for their future with the franchise?

It's a good question to ask, as Paul recently shared a photo of himself relaxing with a sleeping Pierre on his chest. Check out the photo of the two resting peacefully, and apparently, together as a family again.

This photo came after the news Paul and Karine Staehle dropped all emergency protective orders in place against each other, and court hearings were canceled for the custody of their son. Following that, the family posted a photo with Paul's mom, and Karine was sporting a baby bump that confirmed Paul's allegations that the couple was expecting a second child.

Things are good for now, but there was a time not that long ago in which they absolutely weren't. Karine Staehle's restraining order against Paul alleged everything from physical abuse to rape, and Paul accused Karine of trying to kill him by putting glass in his food. After that and some more drama on social media, TLC quietly uninvited the couple from the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? tell-all specials. Host Shaun Robinson later explained the show wanted to give them a chance to deal with what was a fresh situation at the time.

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 5 was finished with filming by the time some of the headlines about the couple were out, so the end of the season showed the two happily setting off for a visit to Karine's home country, Brazil. There's a scenario where Season 6 premieres and TLC just breezes right past that and continues on with their story, or tells a pared down version of the events in between. The question is whether or not they'd want to, especially given that this is not the first time the couple has had a big breakup like this.

Reality television loves drama, but at the same time, TLC has shown it has a standard of what its stars can and can't do outside of the show. Cast members have been kicked off the show for crimes and many other things that the network saw unfit, and I have to wonder if the allegations the couple lodged against each other may lead the network to move on from them and find other couples to highlight. We can only wait and see, and hope that it's smooth sailing for Paul and Karine Staehle going forward, regardless of what happens with the show.

90 Day Fiancé: HEA Strikes Back! is currently airing on TLC, Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET. Continue to stick with CinemaBlend for more on the franchise, and for the latest happening in television and movie news.
