Here's What Disney+ Is Adding In November 2020

November will mark the one year anniversary of Disney+ as a streaming service, and it has to be said it's been a fairly impressive year. Between having so much classic Disney content available whenever you want, and a steady, if not always robust, stream of original content added to that, it's been a solid first year. Subscriber numbers have certainly reflected that, but if Disney+ wants to hold on to that success, and grow it even more, we'll need to see a lot more from the service, and November has a solid line-up.

Of course, a big part of what November will be about is the new season of The Mandalorian, which will carry Star Wars fans through into December. However, there will still be plenty of additional content coming out in November. A brand new documentary about the inner working of Pixar will be starting up early in November. Not to be confused with The Pixar Story, the film created by Leslie Iwerks who also created The Imagineering Story for Disney+. Also, if you're a big fan of the one time Robert Zemeckis made a computer-animated film for Disney, the Jim Carrey led A Christmas Carol will be on Disney+ in time for the holiday season.

The really interesting stuff coming to Disney+ in November hits in the second half of the month as a couple of items are breaking the traditional Friday release pattern so that they can arrive on specific days that are meaningful to the shows. First off, the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special is arriving on Disney+ on November 17, the same day that the infamous original holiday special debuted back in 1978. As this is a LEGO show, expect comedy to be at the forefront, which likely means that a lot of jokes at the expense of the first holiday special are to be expected.

The next day, November 18, is Mickey Mouse's birthday and so the first of a new collection of Mickey Mouse short cartoons will debut, with additional episodes dropping on Fridays as normal. The modern Mickey Mouse shorts are excellent and they're all available on Disney+ to catch up on before the new ones arrive. The last Friday in November will see the debut of Black Beauty, a Disney+ original movie which, like the recent movie, Clouds, wasn't actually produced by Disney, but should still feel at home on Disney+.
