Why Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Are Reportedly Getting Divorced

The high-profile marriage between Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West has seemingly been on the rocks for some time, and now the couple is reportedly getting divorced after nearly six years of marriage. Less than a month after rumors circulated that they were living more or less separate lives, reports of their divorce cite some big reasons why Kardashian and West seemingly called it quits.

According to Page Six, sources have revealed why Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are divorcing, with one source saying of Kardashian:

Now this divorce is happening because Kim has grown up a lot. She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign. Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy shit, and she’s just had enough of it.

The source also states that "Kim got Kanye" to go to his Wyoming ranch to spend the holidays, although Kim Kardashian also took the initiative in the fall to clap back at rumors that Kanye West wasn't at her 40th birthday party. It was for her 40th birthday that West gave Kardashian a hologram of her late father, which sparked plenty of reactions on social media, and sources claim that he "showed up late and left early," leaving "as fast as he could" after giving Kardashian the hologram. If the rumors are accurate, Kardashian's goals for the future seemingly don't align with West's.

As for the comment about Kanye West's presidential aspirations, the rapper did indeed appear on the ballot for the 2020 presidential election in twelve states, with Deadline reporting more than 60,000 votes. A separate source than the one that reportedly explained Kim Kardashian's reasons for pursuing divorce has claimed that West grew more and more uncomfortable with the reality star lifestyle of the Kardashian family.

This source says of West that he is "completely over the entire family" and "wants nothing to do with them", with West reportedly describing Keeping Up With the Kardashians as "unbearable." According to multiple sources, the divorce has not yet happened but is "imminent" and Kim Kardashian has hired a divorce attorney to take them through settlement talks. A complication in the settlement talks is said to likely be their family home in Calabasas, California.

At the time of writing, neither Kim Kardashian nor Kanye West has publicly commented on reports of their divorce and the source claims for the reasons why. Kardashian and West married in May 2014, making these divorce reports just a few months shy of their sixth wedding anniversary. The reality TV star and rapper share four children. Only time will tell if and how the celebrities will comment on the divorce reports. For now, Kardashian's future in the entertainment business is uncertain, as the end is in sight for Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
