Sex And The City’s Kristin Davis Is Teaming With Grey's Anatomy's Ellen Pompeo For New HBO Max Series

Sex and the City meets Grey’s Anatomy! Kristin Davis, star of the upcoming HBO Max revival of the popular drama, has set up a second project at the streamer. And that project will be from actor and producer Ellen Pompeo, a.k.a. Grey's Anatomy's Meredith Grey herself.

Deadline reports HBO Max has put half-hour black comedy Deeds in development, starring and executive produced by Kristin Davis, from Ellen Pompeo’s Calamity Jane. The prospective series is about a desperate realtor who is forced to team up with a sociopathic and drug-addicted young couple on a path that only gets darker. They'll discover that in the world of Los Angeles real estate on the higher end, they're unmatched in immorality.

The news about Ellen Pompeo executive producing the new series comes amidst talks that the current 17th season of Grey’s Anatomy could be the last. Both Pompeo and showrunner Krista Vernoff have spoken out about it, and they’re both unsure of the future of the long-running medical drama. However, if ABC were to renew the series and Deeds scores a series order, Pompeo would presumably be able to work on Grey’s and Deeds at the same time with her work on the HBO Max show in a producing capacity.

Grey’s Anatomy is nearing the end of its 17th season with no confirmation of the show's future (or lack thereof) on ABC, but Ellen Pompeo has a new project on her plate. Who knows? Maybe Pompeo’s executive producing role on Deeds will turn into a role in front of the camera, whether it’d be big or small. In any case, it will be hard to picture her as anyone other than Dr. Meredith Grey.

Kristin Davis, meanwhile, is set to star in HBO Max’s Sex and the City revival, reprising her role as Charlotte York. Depending on whether or not Deeds gets a greenlight and with how many episodes the new series could get, Davis could be juggling two HBO Max shows. However, it will be interesting to see Davis in this role and how it could differ from her famous role on Sex and the City.

There is no other word on the new series, or who else will join, but there will no doubt be more news in the coming months. And with Ellen Pompeo producing it, it will surely be a series to not miss. Both Pompeo and Kristin Davis are super talented and we can’t wait to see what they can do together! Hopefully Pompeo will at least make an appearance in the series so the two can be onscreen together.
