Julia 90 Day Fiance TLC

Warning! The following contains spoilers for Part 1 of the 90 Day Fiancé "Tell All Part 1." Read at your own risk!

90 Day Fiancé Season 8 was full of twists, turns, and controversies, so it was a given that the tell-all was going to be wild. With that said, I'm not sure any viewer expected anything as specifically shocking as the reveal that Julia Trubkina, whom fans have near-universally loved and sympathized with, has been the season's secret villain this entire time. Who would've guessed after Brandon Gibbs and his parents were roasted by the Internet that Julia would actually be the one responsible for much of the chaos?

Yes, innocent ol' Julia, the very same dancer from Russia who was whisked to a Virginian farm to work hard labor for her ungrateful mama's-boy husband, was apparently to blame for the couple's problems all along. The truth came out during the first part of the 90 Day Fiancé when Brandon threw his wife under the bus when the conversation turned to why he thought it would be a good idea to live with his parents. After Jovi asked why Brandon hadn't planned the living situation out better prior to her arrival, the 90 Day Fiancé fandom got hit with some shocking news:

BRANDON: Maybe I did! Maybe I was even looking at property to buy, houses to buy, apartments to rent, but maybe...

JULIA: Yeah okay, it's my mistake! Brandon showed me apartment and said, 'Look.' I said, 'This apartment, this is a fucking shit apartment.'

Shaun Robinson then went on to confirm that Brandon had potential housing options ready to go, but because Julia was upset with the lower-quality locations they could currently afford, their only other option was to move in with his parents until they could save enough money for a better home. Of course, Julia followed that up with the news that she's absolutely still ready to escape his parents's house, as she felt the overall tension between everyone was affecting all of their relationships.

And who could blame her for that part, considering she was forced to endure some hard farm working in order to earn her keep when Brandon was away? Oh, wait, it turns out that wasn't entirely the truth, either. Brandon's parents appeared during the Tell All episode, and Julia confessed that all the work she did on the farm was actually just voluntary chores that Brandon was expected to do. She said she did them mainly to free up Brandon's schedule, which could still be seen as her being forced to do them in some way if not for her opting in on them.

When Ron and Betty Gibbs, Brandon's parents, popped up during the 90 Day Fiancé's Tell All for a chance to defend themselves, they sounded a bit unhinged at times with their strict rules and regulations. But as Ron pointed out, it wasn't like their actions were without reason.

At no given time were they made to stay there. They could move out any time they wanted to. It was okay with us. We were just trying to help them out so they could get financially strong.

While I'm still a bit leery about the rule list that Ron and Betty Gibbs put in place for Brandon and Julia, it certainly does derail fan sympathy knowing that the two could have left the Gibbs' house for their own place at any time. The younger couple said in the tell-all that they still hadn't found an apartment yet, though there's evidence online that suggests that changed after the Tell-All was filmed. It's possible the two were encouraged to hold back that detail as it could show up in their upcoming appearance in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?'s next season.
