90 Day Fiancè Season 9 couple Brandon Gibbs and Julia Trubkina are back in the latest season of 90 Day Fiancè: Happily Ever After?, and surprisingly or not, it didn't take long before the couple hit a roadblock in their new marriage. No, the couple hasn't yet reached a breaking point with Brandon's parents, but they instead faced a situation in which it appeared Julia would have to leave the country.

Julia and Brandon returned to Virginia fresh off their Las Vegas honeymoon so that she could undergo her interview to obtain her green card. 90 Day Fiancè: Happily Ever After? was not allowed to film that process, but once it was all said and done, the couple had some bad news to deal with. Brandon laid out the situation after the meeting and faced the grim reality that Julia could be required to return to Russia in the near future. In his words:

Ok, so she did not get approved for the green card...There's apparently, like, a brand new requisite for the affidavit of support, a brand new document that might be needed. And even the officer doesn't know what it is yet, what exactly the details are. She said what's going to happen is, either in two weeks we'll get a letter and it'll say, 'You're approved,' or they'll just request for more information. And then I guess we'll have to submit that evidence and information.

Neither Brandon nor Julia looked all that happy about the news, and it was easy to understand why. Earlier in the episode, Brandon discussed the hypothetical situation in which Julia would be sent back to Russia, saying he'd go with her, although it wasn't something he really wanted to do. Julia took offense to that comment, and then wondered if it would be easier for her and Brandon to go through a divorce rather than jumping through more hoops hoping for her to return some day.

Of course, those hypotheticals were tied to Julia actually having to leave the U.S. While we can't with 100% certainty confirm whether or not Julia returned to Russia at some point after filming for Happily Ever After?, there is evidence online that as of May 2021, both Brandon Gibbs and Julia Trubkina were together in the United States. A Redditor uploaded a photo of the two 90 Day Fiancè starshanging out in New York City's Bryant Park.

Obviously, Brandon and Julia have tried to play coy on their own social media, but they can't really help when others snap photos and share them on social media. If Julia is currently back in the U.S., one would assume that whatever issues she faced in getting a green card didn't result in her leaving the country. I'm also assuming Brandon didn't have to end up moving to Russia either, which is good news for that guy, since he didn't seem all that eager to do so.

90 Day Fiancè: Happily Ever After? airs on TLC Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET. For more on Julia and Brandon and evidence that he strangely resembles the Elf On The Shelf, check out the picture he uploaded over the holidays posing in costume.
