Spoiler alert! The following story contains spoilers from Part 2 of The Voice Season 20 Finale. You might want to stop reading if you haven’t watched yet.

The Voice named its Season 20 winner on Tuesday, but along with finding out which singer America voted as its favorite, the return of Adam Levine to The Voice stage was among the most highly anticipated events of the evening. Sure enough, Levine and his frenemy Blake Shelton kicked the night off on a silly note with a parking lot run-in.

Adam Levine, sporting a bright pink mohawk and Hawaiian shirt, walked up behind Blake Shelton as the cowboy was giddily texting Levine knock-knock jokes. Levine announced that he was back, and Blake turned the phone around to take a selfie with the fellow OG coach. Levine struck an emotionless pose, which he held as he deadpanned, “I’m so glad to be back.” Take a look at the reunion here:

As Blake Shelton continued to send arbitrary texts to Adam Levine, like, “You’re wearing two shirts,” Levine informed Shelton that the show was starting. Shelton then took a fashionably late entrance alongside his fellow Season 20 coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Nick Jonas.

Adam Levine returned to The Voice with his band Maroon 5 to perform in the finale, which featured a number of all-star musical guests such as another sometimes Voice coach, Gwen Stefani, as well as this season’s Mega Mentor Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson’s sick-week fill-in Kelsea Ballerini. Maroon 5 performed its latest release "Beautiful Mistakes," featuring Megan Thee Stallion.

Blake Shelton and Adam Levine had an infamous rivalry for the first 16 seasons of The Voice, and it got to the point that the jabs between the two started to grate the nerves of viewers. But even in the four seasons since Levine exited the show, he’s continued to drag Shelton (good-naturedly, of course) at every opportunity, saying he’s against Blake’s impending marriage to Gwen Stefani and responding “Blake who?” when asked about him in a Q&A.

A night earlier in Part 1 of the finale, the Top 5 finalists took the stage to perform one last time for America’s vote, with each coach being represented — Kenzie Wheeler for Kelly Clarkson, Rachel Mac for Nick Jonas, Victor Solomon for John Legend, and Cam Anthony and Jordan Matthew Young for Blake Shelton. Adam Levine’s exit from The Voice after Season 16 might have been tied to the format of Season 15, which advanced the top vote-getters regardless of whose team they were on. After some controversy surrounding Team Adam, Levine was not represented in that season's finale, which angered the coach as well as fans.

This might be the last time fans see The Voice on NBC for a while, with the network looking to air the competition show only once per year going forward.
