American Horror Story has always been an ensemble show. From its first season, the show has strived to create multiple characters and show various perspectives on the story. Some actors have returned for multiple seasons, like Jessica Lange, Billie Lourd, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, but new faces continue to pop up. The upcoming season American Horror Story: Double Feature will feature some familiar faces, but it's also added a certain Yellowstone vet who's sure to shake things up.

The Yellowstone vet in question? Neal McDonough, according to Deadline, who played John Dutton’s business rival Malcom Beck in the Western series. He’s slated to play a character named Dwight “Ike” Eisenhower, but not the Dwight you’re thinking of. Apparently the character is a separate person - he will only share the same name as the 34th president of the United States (although I could see Neal McDonough playing a version of Eisenhower).

The weird name isn’t really a departure for American Horror Story, considering other characters tend to have names like the Countess, Xavier Plympton and Liz Taylor (again, not the one you’re thinking of). It could just be a coincidence, but this is Ryan Murphy we’re talking about here. Anything is possible where American Horror Story is concerned.

It’s unclear where Neal McDonough’s Dwight Eisenhower will fit into the plot of Double Feature, since most of the story details have been kept under wraps. Here’s what we do know: American Horror Story Season 10 will feature two narratives. According to Ryan Murphy, one is “set by the sea” and one is “set by the sand.” He posted a photo on Instagram of hands crawling out of the sand, with the caption “things are beginning to wash up on shore.” This presumably alludes to the sea-driven narrative, but doesn’t give away much in terms of plot. And how would a man named Dwight Eisenhower fit into this? Only Ryan Murphy knows, and he’s not telling us quite yet.

While we might have to wait to find out where Neal McDonough fits into the AHS narrative, there’s plenty to get excited about in the meantime. Double Feature is bringing back a ton of AHS favorites, like Lily Rabe, Kathy Bates, Finn Wittrock, Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, Billie Lourd and Evan Peters. In addition to Neal McDonough, Macaulay Culkin will be joining the cast as a series regular. It’s probably too much to hope that an adult Kevin McAllister will be rigging a house with traps to defeat some bad guys, but a girl can dream.

While we wait for Ike, you can check out what other horror television series will be premiering in 2021.
