Britney Spears' Story About Getting Locked In Her Own Bathroom Is Only Topped By Miley Cyrus' Reaction

Britney Spears has been making a lot of news over the past year due to her fight to escape the conservatorship that has limited her ability to make her own decisions for a very long time, but now the pop star has a much more entertaining story about getting locked in her own bathroom. In fact, the story is fun enough that fellow singing star Miley Cyrus had to chime in with a comment that was just the cherry on top.

In a lengthy Instagram post that tells the story of Britney Spears' bedtime routine going horribly wrong, Spears shares how she got locked in her own bathroom and the situation as she waited to be freed. What started as heading to the bathroom at 2 a.m. for some scented lotion to help her sleep turned into the discovery of leftover coffee, some missing face wash, and a bathroom door with the lock so stuck that she couldn't get it open. Spears continued the story, writing:

I got locked in the fucking bathroom and my boyfriend was sleeping … even if there are earthquakes he doesn't wake up!!! I screamed 'HEYYYYY!!!! Come open this stupid door !!!!' …. silence … the fourth time he gets up and says 'What’s wrong?' ... I said 'I’m in here and I can’t get out!!!! He tried to do his thing to open the door with a PEN … so I got my phone and called security to tell them to open the door … 15 minutes went by and they finally said they’d send someone up to open the door … 10 minutes later …. 'HELLO ??? Is anybody there ???' … then they told me 10 more minutes !!! I cleaned the bathroom and thought about taking a shower or something but then I saw it … the door … I just looked at it for the first time with a yearning of just wanting it to open … would my eyes trick me and make it happen faster ???

While I can't say I've ever been locked in my own bathroom due to a stuck door, I can say that Britney Spears is pretty relatable in her process of trying to get the door open in the middle of the night! Even celebrities have mishaps at home at inconvenient hours, and it was pretty good luck for Spears that she had her phone with her in the bathroom, just in case she hadn't been able to wake her boyfriend up.

Miley Cyrus had her thoughts on the bathroom saga, but you really need to read the whole thing for yourself to get the full impact of Britney Spears' story before you can wholly appreciate Cyrus' response:

Good for Britney Spears for telling the story in such a fun way when she could have easily been too annoyed by the whole ordeal to do anything other than finally get some sleep and try to forget about it. Not everybody could have such a lighthearted tone after being locked in a bathroom and not able to get out in the wee hours of the morning. Miley Cyrus showed her support and even cited the fan movement for Spears in the comments:

Was this the situation that supporters of the "Free Britney" movement have had in mind when rallying for Britney Spears to regain some independence in her life? Maybe not, but I think Miley Cyrus wins when it comes to the comment section on Spears' post about her time stuck in the bathroom. This certainly isn't the first time that another celebrity has commented on the "Free Britney" movement, with celebs ranging from Christina Aguilera to Justin Timberlake (who caught some flak and apologized after the release of the Framing Britney Spears documentary) weighing in, but definitely with more of a lighthearted tone!

Hopefully this was the end of Britney Spears' struggles with doors getting stuck, although kudos to her for sharing the story. Her social media has had some more posts of her having fun and telling funny stories recently, as she has scored some wins in her battle against the conservatorship and her father.
