Britney Spears Celebrates Win In Her Conservatorship Case With Cartwheels, Horses And A Message To Fans

Well, it’s happened. Less than a month after Britney Spears went to a court to speak out about feeling controlled by her conservatorship, the “Toxic” singer has made some major progress in regards to her case. After appearing in court a second time, Ms. Spears won a legal victory as the court allowed her to hire her own lawyer rather than a lawyer that had been appointed to her. Of course, this means Spears celebrated with much of the exuberant energy she’s displayed in the past.

Long known for dance videos, Ms. Spears took to social media after being able to hire her own lawyer. Her post saw her celebrating in the great outdoors: Riding a horse, doing cartwheels and nodding at the “Free Britney” movement that helped shed light on her conservatorship in the first place. Taking to Instagram, Britney Spears noted she feels “GRATITUDE and BLESSED.” She also thanked her fanbase and those involved in the “Free Britney” movement, a movement that had a watershed moment when the documentary Framing Britney Spears came out earlier in 2021, leaving questions and answering others related to the famous pop star.

Since then, Britney Spears has taken measures to regain some control in her life. She recently spoke out in court, saying the conservatorship has been restrictive on her life and even alleged that she had been forced to use an IUD that kept her from having more kids, despite her wishes. Following this conversation in court, Spears also reportedly decided to retire and her manager of many years resigned.

Fans have been clamoring to “Free Britney” for months now. The movement has grown so widespread, the fanbase has even looked to other major stars like Kim Kardashian to weigh in. So, it’s no shock that Britney Spears would thank the fanbase for shedding light on her circumstances, noting, “You have no idea what it means to me be supported by such awesome fans.”

Of course, it will take more than a lawyer to stop the ongoing slog of a conservatorship. There are lots of people currently on Britney Spears’ payroll. Two of those individuals, her father Jamie Spears and conservator Jodi Montgomery, are currently also dealing with litigation in court. At the time of this writing, the two have been fighting in the courts of expenses related to Britney Spears’ ongoing conservatorship.

Now, however, following the July 14 hearing in which Brtiney Spears was approved to hire her own lawyer, she’s already moving forward. Spears has hired lawyer to the stars Mathew Rosengart and the lawyer has already said he will be filing paperwork to end the conservatorship that has bound Britney Spears since 2008. He has already requested, per Deadline, that Jamie Spears step down as Ms. Spears’ co-conservator, though Jamie’s own lawyer did not agree.

We’ll see how all of this plays out in the coming weeks.
