Ariela Weinberg’s move from America to Ethiopia to be with her fiancé Biniyam Shibre was one of the most captivating stories of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 2, and so many fans are excited to see the duo return for more adventures in Season 3. The biggest question surrounding the couple has long been whether or not they would remain in Ethiopia indefinitely, and now fans may have gotten an answer to that inquiry in the wildest and most unexpected way.
Fans have shared social media posts about reported sightings of Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre in New York in recent weeks, which isn't all that out of the ordinary. But now it would appear we have evidence those rumors were true, as Biniyam was one of the main fighters heading up a recent amateur MMA event in New York, as held by Flex Fight Series. What's more, Biniyam actually won the fight against his opponent, as evidenced by the post-match picture below, which featured both Biniyam and Ariela.
The event ended with success for Biniyam Shibre, who successfully submitted his opponent Miguel Bernacet with a rear-naked choke. Biniyam had no shortage of supporters in the stands, either, and one of which was fellow 90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem. Check out the picture that Deem shared below, where she was seeming wearing the same outfit she wore in the latest tell-all for 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?
Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre's current presence in the United States may come as a surprise to many fans, as the couple seemed committed to raising their young son Avi in Ethiopia. Of course, once Ariela arrived to find that simple luxuries like a modern toilet weren’t a given in Biniyam’s day-to-day life in the country, she started to have doubts about remaining so far away from the U.S.
The preview for 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 3 did feature the couple still living living in Ethiopia, though things did not seem to be going well. Said preview teased a conversation between in which Ariela told Biniyam she would not be returning to Ethiopia because of something he did. It could be that Ariela held true to that promise, with her and Biniyam moving on from their drama, and also moving over to the United States.
It’s also possible that Biniyam Shibre and Ariela Weinberg will return to Ethiopia after this current U.S. stay, though that feels unlikely. Ariela has not gotten along with Biniyam’s family since she’s lived there, and Ariela may much prefer Biniyam’s career as an amateur MMA fighter compared to him dancing with his ex-girlfriend in a nightclub. Plus, one would think having more domestically located cast members would mean more opportunities for them to be more heavily involved with the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, provided that’s a path they want to continue after the upcoming season.
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way premieres on TLC on Sunday, August 29th at 8:00 p.m. ET. I’m certainly excited to see what’s going on with all the couples set to appear in this coming season and hoping this season makes up for some of the downfalls of the latest season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?
