Ordinarily, I find the Law & Order: Ripped From The Headlines episodes to be a bit forced and worse than regular offerings. I suspect this has something to do with my being into regular L&O and SVU. Neither of those shows needs any special gimmicks to draw me in because I'm already there. As a result, I'd rather see a unique and interestingly crafted mystery rather than something adapted from the papers. Notice I said “ordinarily” though. This new trick up Criminal Intent's sleeve has the potential to be a whole lot of fun.
According to TV Line, Law & Order: Criminal Intent has begun shooting an episode inspired by the numerous injuries on the set of the Broadway Spider-man production. In the program's version, one of the actors will actually die from the fall, opening wounds and leading to a criminal investigation that'll shake the entire production.
There's no official airdate for the episode in question, but it will be broadcast sometime before the end of the season. Among those loosely parodied include director Julie Taymor and U2 frontman and musical composer Bono. Both are supposedly hitting the bottle pretty hard during the episode, with the latter also cheating on his wife.
Don't direct your questions about Spider-man to Dick Wolf or anyone else over at NBC though. As per usual, they're denying this has anything to do with Spider-man. After all, their plot involves a musical about Icarus and a composer named Argo. So close, yet just far enough to prevent legal action.
