Heather Locklear Joins TNT's Franklin & Bash

Fans of Heather Locklear will see the actor on the big screen soon enough, with Scary Movie 5 due to arrive in theaters this April. And then she'll be headed back to television as she's reportedly signed on for a role in TNT's legal dramedy Franklin & Bash, joining Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar among the cast.

With Garcelle Beauvais exiting the show (her contract was not picked up after Season 2), Franklin & Bash appears to have an opening for a new female character, and Deadline reports that Heather Locklear is being brought in to fill that spot. The former Melrose Place star is set to play Rachel King, "a stunning trial lawyer, with stiletto heels and clothes tailored within an inch of their life." Sounds like just the kind of role for a looker like Locklear, who has some experience with playing gorgeous, confident women.

Franklin & Bash stars Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as two streetwise attorneys who work for a fancy law firm. It sounds like Locklear's character will be joining the firm where they work, so it should be interesting to see how she gets along with the title characters. She's a series regular, so fans of the TNT series should expect to see plenty of her when Season 3 returns this summer.

Among Locklear's previous TV credits are Dynasty, T.J. Hooker, Melrose Place and Spin City. Her last major role in a TV show was a recurring spot in The CW's revival of Melrose Place a few years back.

Assistant Managing Editor

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way). She graduated from SUNY Cortland with BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Cinema Studies. When she isn't working, she's probably thinking about work, or reading (or listening to a book), and making sure her cats are living their absolute best feline lives.
