I don’t know why, but the announcement of the fifth season of Teen Titans caught me by surprise. Hadn’t they already released all of the animated super-hero series? Then I remembered the first few years of releases were collected by theme and storyline, not by season.

Regardless, the fifth season of Teen Titans is headed for DVD on July 8th. The two disc set will include all thirteen episodes of the season, which follows the Titans as they face off with the Brotherhood of Evil. Keeping with the theme of the season, the DVD will include new character files for Control Freak, Bob & The Source, Billy Numerous, Mother Mae-Eye, and Trigon. That’s it for the special features, however.

The cover art is pretty much what you’ve come to expect from the series at this time, making the odd choice of putting Cyborg as the dominant character, even though Beast Boy plays a pretty important part in the season. Oh well, at least it matches pretty well with the other seasons, which is more than some shows can say.
