League Of Legends Get Jinxed Music Video Introduces New Champion

Riot Games has decided to showcase their upcoming League of Legends champion Jinx in an unusual way: with a music video. The video, featuring vocals by Agnete Kjølsrud from the band Djerv, gives us insight into the twisted mind of Jinx.

"For Jinx, the fun doesn't end just because she's sleeping," Riot said on the LoL website. "Featuring hexplosive sequences packed with bombs and bullets and her unique take on fun, League of Legends Music: Get Jinxed frees the Loose Cannon to serve up wild hijinks without those pesky Piltover laws getting in the way."

"Whether through cinematics, motion comics, log-in screens or music, we're continuing to explore new ways to deliver champion stories. Showcasing a new song inspired by a hedonistic supercriminal and her vivid imagination running wild? Time for a music video."

Riot Games previously introduced Jinx with a journal entry from fellow Champion Vi. Vi is a former criminal who became part of Piltover's law enforcement. Obviously, she's not too fond of Jinx. This enmity between the two won't actually play out within LoL matches but I'm sure the underlying storyline for the game is interesting to at least a few players out there.

Jinx is a psychopath intent on unleashing chaos and destruction on Piltover. The "Pow-Pow" she mentions in the chorus is her mini-gun. This is her main weapon within LoL. Pow-Pow has a built-in speed bonus that stacks up as she continues to fire. This means she can cause some serious damage to a target that's either slow or not moving.

The video also showcases her obsession with explosives. During battle she can swap out Pow-Pow for Fishbones, a rocket launcher with higher damage and range that consumes mana. She can also toss a string of incendiary grenades ("Flame Chompers") that can root enemies in place. Her ultimate, Super Mega Death Rocket, increases in damage the farther it travels.

This is the second weird video Riot has released to the intertubes this week. On Thursday, they sent out an anime trailer for the Season 3 World Championship. They're forever on the lookout for strange ways to promote their game, it seems.

Jinx will be added to League of Legends' roster in an upcoming patch. No word yet on a release date. In the meantime, you can see her in action in a new Champion Spotlight gameplay video below.
